Design Engineer

Required Qualifications:

• HNC/HND, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
• Experience in lift engineering, building services, or a similar technical design environment
• Experience using 2D/3D CAD software and BIM/Revit
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed lift designs, layout drawings, and technical submittals
• Develop practical engineering solutions based on architectural and structural drawings
• Ensure designs comply with UK lift standards (BS EN 81-20/50), Building Regulations, and health & safety requirements
• Conduct technical assessments and support site survey activities where required
• Liaise with UK clients, architects, consultants, suppliers, and notified bodies
• Create and maintain BIM/Revit models for projects
• Manage technical documentation through client construction management platforms
• Prepare bills of materials and equipment orders
• Provide technical support throughout installation, commissioning, and project completion
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and value engineering opportunities
