KLEEMANN, under the framework of the action “Investment Plans of Innovation” of the Operational Program "Central Macedonia 2021-2027," co-funded by the European Union (EU) and National Resources, has been participating as the coordinating entity since October 2021 in the project titled: "Design and Implementation of an Innovative Lift Air Conditioning System Using Thermoelectric Modules (TecLift)" with project code ΚΜΡ6-0074109.
The project also involves two research entities, namely the Departments of Physics and Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
The project focuses on an innovative lift air conditioning system. Lift operation, whether inside or outside buildings, often requires air conditioning units installed within the cabins. Conventional air conditioning systems have adverse effects, including structural limitations, high energy consumption, noise levels inside the cabin, and environmental impact.
An innovative solution that can be implemented is the use of appropriate thermoelectric (TE) air conditioning systems (TEC) that remove heat from the lift cabin's interior based on the Peltier effect. The ultimate goal of this research proposal is to apply TE technology to develop cooling systems for lift cabins.
Our aim is to create a system that occupies minimal space while being significantly more environmentally friendly.
The research project is expected to be completed by early February 2025.
