Compliance with GOST 34305-2017

Every order with the Genius20 control panel is now compliant with GOST 34305-2017, the current Russian standard applicable to fire-fighting lifts.


Automatic Landing Door – Contact Wiring

Release week: 22/2021

Automatic doors will be equipped with pre-wired landing door locks on the connection connector for linking to the controller. This addition enables easier connection and saves time during installation.

New Option for EN81-72

Release week: 24/2021

Every Genius20 control panel with two entrances and a second car operating panel can now be compliant with EN81-72:2015, as the second car operating panel will become inoperative in the following cases:

  • 5.8.9.1 b) 2) second car operating panels shall be disabled in Phase 2

  • 5.8.9.2 c) 4) second car operating panels shall be disabled in Phase 2

The first car operating panel shall be EN81-72 compliant and must be set to dual call.

The second car operating panel must be IP54 and may include buttons only for the second doors, while dual call is optional.

Arrows on the Handrail

Release week: 30/2020

A new option has been added to the Genius20 controller, in accordance with EN 81-70, for selecting “Arrows on the Handrail”. These arrows are:

  • Arrows indicating the next travel direction, with white illumination

  • Installed on satin stainless-steel handrails

  • Installed at the appropriate height from the floor, according to EN standards

Once selected, there is no need for an overdoor indicator on each floor.

New Evacuation Stickers

Release week: 30/2020

New illustrated evacuation stickers for Genius20 traction lifts will replace the existing textual instructions.

With the new stickers, evacuation instructions become simpler and easier to understand.

Addition to the EN81-72 Circuit

Release week: 22/2020

Every GENIUS20 control panel compliant with EN81-72:2015 will be equipped with a terminal for connecting an additional signal for calling the lift to the fire service access level, where required, as per:

5.8.2
An additional external control or input may only be used for the automatic return of the fire-fighting lift to the fire service access level and to keep the lift at that level with doors open. The fire-fighting lift switch shall remain in position “1” to complete Phase 1.

 


New I/Os

New programmable I/Os have been added to simplify the connection of the cabin light button/switch on the car operating panel. The new parameters are listed below:

I: Cabin light ON/OFF

Defines the input for activating or deactivating the cabin light.

Cabin light impulse

Determines whether the actuator is used to activate the cabin light.

O: Cabin light ON/OFF

Defines the output for signaling activation or deactivation of the cabin light.


New Functions

New functions have been added to the Certifications menu to allow various on-site tests to be performed safely, quickly, and easily.
GENIUS20 guides the user through the necessary steps for successful activation of each function by displaying appropriate messages on the handheld terminal. The new functions are described below.

 

Bypass Overload – Full Load

Release week: 26/2019
Software version: V1.003M

Used to perform tests with the car loaded up to and above its rated capacity.

Select this function to disable the inputs I: Full Load and I: Overload. When the function is active, these signals are bypassed and the lift can move at full or above rated load.
Reset is performed automatically 5 minutes after activation.

Cabin Door Bypass Monitoring Signal

Release week: 08/2020
Software version: V1.003Y

A test to verify that the lift will not move when cabin door safety systems are bypassed until the cabin doors are closed, as per:

EN81-20 5.12.1.8.3 d)
A special monitoring signal shall be provided to verify that the cabin door(s) are closed in order to allow car movement when the closed door contact(s) are bypassed. This also applies if the cabin door closed contact(s) and the landing door locked contact(s) are bridged.

Please find this function in the menu:
“Cabin Door Bypass Monitoring Signal”

After activating this function, the parameter value “I: Door Closing Limit Switch” will be switched from N.O. to N.C. or vice versa.
Reset is performed after selecting “Reset / End Certification”.

  • GENIUS20 Menu

The new structure offers a clear classification of all GENIUS20-related information, allowing faster and more direct access to required on-site information.

The three GENIUS20 manual editions are:

Hardware
Contains all necessary information related to GENIUS20 PCBs, their inputs and outputs, displays, and instructions for proper use and programming.

Installation Guide
Provides essential information required during the installation process. All connections are described in detail, along with instructions for First Movement, Learning Drive, and Ride Comfort optimization.

GENIUS20 Menu
Serves as a user guide for the GENIUS20 menu. It describes all menus, submenus, functions, and parameters available via the handheld terminal. Additionally, a complete fault list is provided, including error descriptions, possible causes, and methods for resolution or reset.
